Delicious stuff straight from the farm.
We love food, and we get excited when people give a shit about where their food comes from.
It shouldn’t be so complicated. We grow good stuff, you buy it and enjoy it. Easy, hey?
Meat is a tricky business
The more complex the world gets, the more confusing our food system becomes. Most meat somehow ends up on supermarket shelves, and eventually on your plate via a supply chain that is long, complicated (and ethically ambiguous). Most butchers don’t even purchase meat from a farmer! It shouldn’t be so complicated!
Producers often do all they can on farm, but the more complex the supply chain, the less control they have over the price and quality of the final product. And with transport, feedlots, transport, intermediaries, more transport, and all sorts in between... there is a lot that impacts a global commodity like meat. (Energy and fuel prices, supply and labour shortages, wars, global pandemics…)
How we do business
The idea of Community Supported Agriculture is that the risks and benefits of good farming practices are shared between the farmer and the end consumer. Using this model means we can ensure consistent demand for our product and set a stable sale price for our customers.
We grow our animals to full maturity on the farm. We work directly with a local abattoir and butcher to ensure a really high standard of animal welfare and an excellent quality final product, which we transport directly to our customers.
We sell beautiful meat directly to the people who eat it - without the bullshit. Currently, we work on an annual subscription model, delivering to our valued Meat Club members each quarter via delivery points in Metro Melbourne and North East Victoria. We get to farm with the highest welfare and quality standards. Our legendary meat club members get to buy direct from farm at a comparable price point, and eat delicious stuff. Win - win!
